  • Clinical Trials Research Unit - provides advice and practical support to investigators planning or running clinical trials
  • Pre-Clinical 7T Magnetic Resonance Imaging Facility - Research projects at the University of Sheffield involving MRI cover a broad range of topics; everything from functional MRI, to cardiac MRI and pre-clinical spectroscopy

  • INSIGNEO - a multi-disciplinary institute to develop computer simulations of the human body and its disease processes
  • Mercury Centre - provide a complete advanced manufacturing solution from design and modelling of components, through to manufacture and materials characterisation
  • Sheffield Diagnostics Genetics Service - Sheffield Diagnostic Genetic Services  is a CPA accredited diagnostic lab with Next Generation Sequencing capabilities on the MiSeq, HiSeq2500 and PGM platforms. We actively support research activities and clinical trials

  • Cancer Research Centre - is a collaboration between the world leading scientists and clinicians who work at the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals
  • MeDe Innovation - The Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Medical Devices researches and develops advanced design and manufacturing methods for the medical device sector
  • MRC Centre for Developmental and Biomedical Genetics - brings together developmental geneticists with clinician scientists, creating a focus of expertise in the development of animal models of human disease with the aim of stimulating the translation of findings from model systems to the development of novel therapies and clinical practice.
  • Bioinformatics Hub - is a cross-departmental group of computational biologists, with expertise in analysis of big data including next-generation sequencing and other high-throughput technologies. 
  • National Centre for III-V Technologies - provides collaborative access to expertise and facilities, for scientific research in the physical, engineering and biomedical sciences.
